To Janice Boyd, Citizen of the town of Dixmont
GREETINGS:
In the name of the State of Maine, you are hereby required to notify and warn the inhabitants of the town of Dixmont qualified to vote on Town Affairs to assemble at the Dixmont Gold Crest Riders Snowmobile Club, 31 Cates Road, on Wednesday, August 19, 2026 at Seven o’clock in the evening to act on the following articles to wit:
Art. 1. To nominate and elect a moderator to preside at said meeting, and fix compensation therefor.
Art. 2. Shall the Town vote to authorize the issuance of General Obligation Bonds or notes in an amount not to exceed $350,345.70, hereby authorized with the dates, maturities, denominations, interest rates and other details of such bonds or notes to be determined by the Selectboard for the Town’s contribution toward the New Fire Station . Note: The Town received the CDS Grant from Senator Susan Collins in the amount of $2,333,000.00.
The Town previously authorized the passage of Art. 43 on March 21, 2026. This article was written as “To see if the Town will vote to raise and appropriate….”. This wording means to raise money through taxation which was not the intent. The intent was to borrow through bonds and/or loans not to raise taxes.
Art. 3. To see if the Town will vote to adopt the “Property Maintenance Ordinance” dated June 16, 2026, as prepared by the Dixmont Planning Board.
The Registrar of Voters will be at the scheduled voting place at six o’clock in the evening on Wednesday, 19th day of August AD, 2026.
